Conference Apportionments

"Caring for Persons in Need"

"Apportionments" is a term unique to United Methodism. It has to do with many commitments to mission we make to help persons in need and to alleviate suffering. In a sense, our apportionments express the church's primary purpose: to care for God's world and to share God's love with others.

As United Methodists, we support more than 1000 missionaries who work in the USA and other countries. We assist 48 child-care facilities, 75 hospitals and health-care facilities, and 250 retirement and long termcare facilities.

We serve in ministry on nearly 100 United Methodist college campuses. We support colleges, universities and secondary and preparatory schools. We assist 13 theological schools and a medical school.

We provide counseling services to individuals and families who struggle with physical and substance abuse. Ministering to persons who are incarcerated in prison is also a part of our United Methodist outreach. The list of ministries of compassion that happen through the United Methodist Church is nearly infinite!!

Apportionments make a big difference beyond our church walls. When we pay our apportionments in full, we do what every congregation is called to do. We serve in Christ's name and carry Christ's ministry to places we may never be able to go to,
