Henri Wilson's Use of Deceptive Language
or,
Would You Buy A Used Ballistic Theory From This Man?

Henri occasionally resorts to deceptive language, misrepresenting his work in such a way that, if caught, he can deny that he was lying. Consider the following exchange between Henri and George Dishman:

Henri Wilson:
Why isn't the brightness curve of EF Dra flat on top, ie., while the two stars
are in full view for a major part of the orbit?
I presume it currently explained by glowing material transferring between the
two bodies.
I don't believe that. I say it is a BaTh effect.

Here is my interpretation of EF Dra....and other 'contact binaries'.

This show ONE star being orbited and partially eclipsed by a large cool body.
The second spectrum is just a reflection.
Note, the BaTh phasing now agrees with the brightness/velocity curves.

......Just another example of how astronomy has been completely derailed by
Einsteiniana.

Note that although Henri never actually claimed that he generated the curve using his program, he never made it clear that he simply drew the curve by hand. He wrote, "Here is my interpretation of EF Dra", leaving it for the reader to assume that he generated the curve using his program, and was therefore had the support of rigorous computation when he stated, "Note, the BaTh phasing now agrees with the brightness/velocity curves".

George Dishman:
Yes you do, you have the curves for EF Dra and probably
several other from the same papers. Let me know if you
find one that isn't pure VDoppler.

Henri Wilson:
You saw MY constructed curve for EF Dra. ..but I don't know the actual shape
behind the eclipsed part.

More weasel language here. He referred to the curve as a "constructed" curve. Again, Henri is being highly deceptive.

George Dishman:
The phase is not the same, that's how we tell them apart.

Henri Wilson:
It is....

George Dishman:
Nope, 90 degrees out.

Henri Wilson:
Nope George.
Have another look at: www.users.bigpond.com/hewn/efdrag/jpg

The phase is correct fro ADoppler.

Notice how Henri is using his hand-drawn fantasy diagram to "prove" that his theory can provide the correct phase.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Finally, on May 4, George Dishman realized that Henri was FAKING the curve fit!

Henri Wilson:
No George, have another look at:www.users.bigpond.com/hewn/efdrag.jpg

The peak velocity curve is in phase with the peak brightness curve, which in in
phase with hte eclipses.

George Dishman:
I had another look Henry, it is a fake again! The top is a cut-off
ellipse and you have then drawn a number of dots along the actual
curve by hand.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And now, Henri exhibits the ultimate in chutzpah, pretending that he had made it evident from the very start that his drawing was merely an illustration, and not the result of his computer computations:

George Dishman:

Henri Wilson:
Of course.

George Dishman:
Show a screen capture from your program, state the orbital parameters
and _copy_ the curve onto a composite diagram like mine showing both
luminosity and velocity curves with the correct relative phasing:

You are a charlatan Henry, a plain old fraud.

Henri Wilson:
George, my diagram was never supposed to be accurate. It was merely
demonstrating the basic idea.
I will make a more accurate one for you if you like.
