The Dynamics and Challenges of Working with Survivors of Suicide

This workshop will acquaint professionals with the unique dynamics of suicide grief and the spiritual challenges that survivors face and will empower participants to hold gently the hearts of those who are walking on glass

The Workshop Examines:

• The Stigma of Suicide
• Overview of Religious / Historical / Cultural perspective
• Introduction of the Medical Model of Depression and Suicide

    Anne and Karen will share their own experiences of losing sons to suicide

Participants will:

•  Examine their own understandings regarding  death by suicide and the issues surrounding it
•  Expand their knowledge as to the causes of  suicide
•  Become  familiar with the commonalities of suicide grief
•  Understand how suicide grief challenges spiritual assumptions and practices of the survivors
