Hu’s on First?

The home-plate entrance at CanWest Global Park, Aug-2005.

A look at the seating bowl.

The park faces the Red River.

Quick Facts: Rating: 4 baseballs
This very attractive downtown stadium became the home of Winnipeg baseball in 1999.

Fans walk up stairwells flanking home plate to reach the main concourse, which contains a single seating bowl. Luxury boxes and the press box shelter the back few rows.

The park contains the best variety of food concessions I have ever seen in a minor or independent league park. Almost as many different cuisines are represented as are ethnicities in the cosmopolitan city that hosts the park. One notable feature is the right-field Chinese bistro (as they style it) called “Hu’s on First”.
