The trouble was, the crowds seldom materialized. After the Eastern League pulled out, a New York-Penn League team gave Glens Falls a go. The Redbirds led the NY-P in attendance in 1993, but moved to northern New Jersey the next season, leaving the seat of Warren County without professional baseball for yet another season.

Fortunately, the Northern League was looking for a place to play, and East Field was waiting for them. The Adirondack Lumberjacks won the league’s inaugural title in 1995 while providing reasonable entertainment during the summer months, attracting fans who come down from the surrounding mountains for the evening as well as the local townsfolk.

The park features free parking, decent concessions, and a couple of sections of seats with backs. Most of the seating capacity is bleachers, however, and they are so expansive that a decent crowd still leaves the park looking half-empty. There are also light stanchions that block the view from some of the seats. The field itself also slopes severely down toward left field, and I’m not sure the infield is on a level grade.

Following the 2002 season, the Lumberjacks announced that they had been sold to an investor who would move them to a new stadium being built around the baseball field at Husson College in Bangor, Me. They first played a season at the University of Maine in Orono and then moved to Husson.
