Instead, the Osprey were playing in this American Legion park on the outskirts of town. The central grandstand was improved, and two small sections of aluminum bleacher were added. In addition, molded seats were installed in the bleacher sections closest to the plate. However, the remaining bleachers are all wood, including the home of the Right Field Rowdies all the way down the line.
The park faces southwest, making the sun brutal for fans in the third-base bleacher until the late innings.
The Osprey’s new park on the other side of town, near the University of Montana, opened for the start of the 2004 season.
