Allie P. Reynolds Stadium opened in the middle of the 1981 season and was dedicated in 1982. It is named for the former Oklahoma A&M pitcher who, the legend goes, was spotted by coach Hank Iba at a track and field practice and asked if he could pitch. Reynolds struck out four batters without throwing a called ball, and he went on to star for the Cowboys prior to a major-league career in which he tossed two no-hitters for the Yankees in 1951.

The park features a long, handicap-accessible ramp to a point directly behind home plate. The first seven rows are reserved seating, stadium seats with backs, followed by a cross aisle and about ten rows of general admission seating (fewer behind home plate, where the press box gets in the way). I noticed that the first two rows of general admission seats have horrible sight lines thanks to rails on the cross aisle protecting the reserved seats. The field faces northeast and has fairly standard dimensions.

Out beyond left field is Cowgirl Stadium, home of the OSU softball team. The field is a block away from the football stadium.
