Most folks referred to it as “Q Stadium”, but when I got here, the nameplate clearly said “QU-Stadium”, leading me to believe it had been built for the Quincy University baseball team. I do know that during the late 1960s and early 1970s it was occupied by a Chicago Cubs farm club. What I do not know for sure is whether the college played there before the tenure of the pro team.
QU, located south of the park on 18 Street, still uses the facility, as do the Quincy Gems of the Prospect League, a college summer league.
