Quick Facts:
By all indications, this has been the home of Seton Hall baseball at least as early as 1907. Setonia Field, which also hosted football until 1981 and still hosts soccer, was rededicated in 1973 to Owen Carroll, a one-time star pitcher at Holy Cross who took over as Seton Hall’s head coach in 1948 and stayed for 25 years. He was replaced by Mike Sheppard, who lasted 31 seasons; Sheppard’s son Rob currently coaches the team.

The field, across a campus road from Immaculate Conception Seminary and separated from Archbishop Walsh Auditorium (the on-campus gym, home of Seton Hall women’s basketball) by a parking garage, faces southwest. It is flanked by several rows of bleachers. Fans also watch from the various levels of the garage, though the school’s public safety department works to prevent this act.

In 2007, lights and artificial turf were added, allowing for greater use of this venerable facility.
