Parker Field

Behind-the-plate entrance to Parker Field, Aug-2006.

Today, buildings of Yakima Valley Community College rise behind the old ballpark.

The configuration of the outfield wall is similar to that of the 1950s.
Quick Facts:
- Location: 12 Avenue and Nob Hill Boulevard, Yakima, Wash.
- Opened: Before 1937
- Home team: Yakima Pippins (1937-41), Stars (1946-47), Packers (1948), Bears (1949-66, 1990-92), Western International/Northwest League; Yakima Valley Community College, Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges
- Capacity: 2,500 (2006)
Parker Field first saw professional use in the Western International League in 1937; the league became the Northwest League in 1955. Except for 1942 (and the war years from 1943-45 when the league suspended operations), Yakima had a team in the loop continuously until 1966.
When the Salem Dodgers moved to Yakima in 1990, they played at Parker Field for three seasons until a new facility could be built for them at the fairgrounds, two miles east on Nob Hill Boulevard.
