County Road 59

Bergen County Road 59 begins at Essex Street in Maywood and runs into Paramus, where it becomes Forest Avenue, a four-lane arterial which seems to remind many of its drivers of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway – much to the chagrin of residents. It then proceeds into Westwood, where it veers off on Fourth Avenue and becomes a local street again.

The entire length is signed as part of primary route 13.

County Road S-59

Bergen County Road S-59 is a four-lane continuation of Forest Avenue to connect with Lafayette Avenue. This became a county road as part of a proposal to extend primary route 13 along this road, but that was never done.

For continuity, Westwood ought to rename the 0.08 mile of 4th Avenue between the Oradell line and the Forest Avenue extension as Forest Avenue, but who am I to tell Westwood what to do?
