Until not too long ago, my only taste of Delaware was the 13-mile horror show known as the Delaware Turnpike. Since then, I’ve found places like Fenwick Island and Rehoboth Beach (the quiet counterparts to Ocean City, Md.), and Lewes, where you can catch a nice, calm ferry to Cape May, N.J. I’ve also taken a liking to Frawley Stadium in Wilmington, home of the Blue Rocks. Up near the Pennsylvania line is Winterthur Museum and Gardens. (And if you’re not driving a truck, take SR 896, 4, and 2 and avoid that toll!)
