Bristol - The Most Best And Beautiful

Brinmar's In Bristol Fashion, CD

February 22, 1989 - May 12, 2001

Bristol was my first Water Dog, and the love of my life. Prior to bringing Bristol into my life I had lived with a Brittany Spaniel and 2 Miniature Schnauzers. While I loved the intelligence exhibited by both of those breeds, something was missing. My Brittany had been hyperactive (literally making Water Dogs seem calm!) and the Schnauzers were typical terriers. They thought I was the one who had issues...

From the moment I got her home, Bristol showed me what living with a Water Dog was all about. She was naughty, destructive, bossy, loud and brilliant! She was completely housebroken at 9 weeks of age, could clear any kitchen counter by 6 months, and knew all of the drive-up windows that were good for a treat by 12 months. (Of course, she continually updated her list throughout her life).

Bristol had a great sense of humor and a strong desire to be the center of attention. More than once she was found up under someone's skirt sticking her cold, wet nose against the back of the innocent victim's leg. She just loved to get a reaction.

She owned the passenger seat of my car, and was a well-traveled Water Dog, welcome wherever she went (or we just didn't go there!). She accompanied me out to Minnesota, down to Florida and up into Canada during her lifetime. She went to work with me every day of her life, and made friends everywhere she went.

Bristol taught me a great deal about what matters most in life. I retired from the High Tech industry so that I wouldn't miss a minute with her. She made me laugh every day of her life and I cried every day for a year when she had to leave me at 12 years of age. Everyone who knew her still misses her, and no one who knew will ever forget the experience.

Jay - "The Man of Men"

The Foundation of Reel Life

Ch. Pennrico Azul Marino, CGC

OFA Good, Optigen A, GM-1 Normal

March 24, 1990 - March 31, 2003

Jay was my second Water Dog, and the foundation of Reel Life PWD's. He was handsome, proud as punch and as confident as the day is long. He had the face of an angel, though he was incredibly independent and charming at the same time. Jay had that joie de vivre that typifies Reel Life PWD's in large measure.

I first met Jay at the Greenwich KC show in June of 1990. He was 10 weeks old, and completely unflappable. We had 3 adult PWD's in our room that evening, and Jay managed to chase each of them to higher ground. Though I wasn't in a position to take him into my home due to the constraints of my career, I thought of him often. Fortunately for me, his breeder kept him and finished his championship. In early May of 1991, I was fortunate to be able to purchase him and bring him home where he lived until he was 13 years of age.

Jay was shown often as a young dog, and in 1993 he went Best of Breed at the Nutmeg PWD Club's Supported entry at Greenwich KC. His brother Ch. Pennrico Knollkrest Tugger was Best of Winners that day as well. In May of 2000, I presented him at the Ladies Dog Club show in Wrentham, MA and he went Best of Breed at the age of 10 years young.

Jay was a keen observer of human behaviors and was quite apt to mimic what he saw. He could open many doors with ease and was able to engage the snooze alarm on my clock radio, which frequently led to lots of rushing around in the morning!

He trashed my car more than once, leading me to purchase a van "just for him." I'm quite certain he believed that everyone benefited from the van purchase, so he was just doing all of us a favor...

Jay produced puppies with his wonderful temperament, great structure and good health. We have been so fortunate to be able show and breed his children and grand children with great success.
