These are our currently
available flasks. Flasks are typically 4 or 6 oz. baby food jars.
The number of seedlings varies by flask; please see description
for a better count. Plants will be shipped in flask. We use
a fairly rigid media, and have had very little problem with it breaking
up in the mail.
In general, we believe that fewer stronger plants are better than
lots of underdeveloped plants. Our flasks are sown with this objective
in mind. Seedlings are arranged so as not to crowd each other, and
are allowed to develop.
Some species which go dormant and drop leaves when mature tend to
do the same in flask. Such dead leaves are not considered a negative
occurrence, particularly when we get nice little pseudobulbs.
In most cases, plants may be allowed to develop further in flask,
and removed at your leisure. However, if they are scrambled in the mail,
or become contaminated, they should be deflasked immediately.
Photos are of actual sale flasks, and representative of that particular
batch. Unless specified in the description, you may or may not receive
the flask in the photo.
Since we are continually sowing new species, this list will change
as flasks mature.

Polyrrhiza lindenii- The Florida ghost
orchid. This leafless species can be difficult to establish, but
once going, not too difficult. I've gotten away from mounting these
on cork- they seem to prefer an empty clay pot or wire mesh. I've had
very good success deflasking into plastic net pots with fine clay (S/H)
pellets. They hang in a wardian case with good air circulation.
