A Note from Our Priest

In the service of Holy Baptism, all Christians make some promises. They are guidelines about how t live in the faith, how to walk in the pilgrimage of life. The very first promise is that we will "continue in the apostles' teaching and fellowship, in the breaking of bread and in the prayers (BCP, page 304).

Certainly we are promising to come to church for the Holy Eucharist and to pray regularly. But we are also promising to continue in the ancient teachings of the church. These "teachings" are really about stories, not facts. We promise to continue the patterns of living that Jesus Christ extablished nearly 2000 years ago.

How do we do this? What does Jesus call us to do? How can the church help us? What does it mean when we gather for Holy Eucharist on Sundays? These questions are real for adults, and they are real for children.

Classes at Christ Church will help teach our children the most important stories - the key messages - of our Christian faith. They will hear how God loves them, and how each child and each person is made in God's image. They will hear that we all have more than enough, and that loving as God loves is the best way to live.

All this hapens in a loving setting, with dedcated teachers and volunteers. Our culture teaches us that we are not good enough, that we don't have enough, and that we should look out for ourselves first. At Christ Church, we seek to practice another way of living. Children will practice being part of a compassionate community, learning that love is really the only thing that matters - God's love for us, our love for God, and our love for one another.
