The Boar's Head is a festival celebrating the Advent season and the birth of Christ Jesus. This musical
event has been put on annually for the past 27 years. The performances are held each year during the first week of advent
and the participants are of all ages.
The festival is based on the Boar's Head and Yule Log Ceremony, probably the oldest continuing festival
of the Christmas season. It was presented at least as early as 1340, at Queen's College, Oxford and in time became a
part of the Christmas celebration of the great manor houses of England.
Our presentation was written and designed for the Cherry Hill United Presbyterian church of Dearborn, Michigan.
We, at Christ Church in Ellwood City acknowledge the inspiration of the past in presenting this gift to our community.
