Church News
- THE DEACONS will be extending the collection for our special families to every Sunday.
In order to provide a variety of goods, we are outlining possible donated items into the following weekly categories:
Week 1 - cleaning items, health and beauty items and paper products; Week 2 - canned goods (fruit, vegetables and soups);
Week 3 - dried goods (pasta, rice, potatoes, cereals, crackers); Week 4 - canned meats, boxed jello, boxed pudding;
Week 5 - anything non-perishable. A basket for the collection will be at the pulpit or items can be left in the
church office. Thank you for your continued support.
- ELECTION DAY SOUP SALE - Tuesday,
November 3rd - 11:00 am to 6:00 pm. Soups available will be Beef Vegetable, Ham & Bean, and Chicken & Pasta.
Meal consists of soup, bread & crackers, dessert and beverage. $5 for adults, $2 under 10. Take out quarts
- $6.
- THE ELLWOOD MINISTERIAL CHOIR FESTIVAL - Sunday,
November 8th. This grand, local, festive music event features church choirs, bell choirs, & instrumentalists sponsored
by the Ellwood City Ministerium. It will be held at Holy Redeemer Church, 4th Street and Park Avenue at 7:00 pm (Prelude
begins at 6:45 pm).
- WEDNESDAY CHOIR REHEARSALS - Both
Bell and Chancel Choir rehearsals are cancelled on Wednesdays, November 11 (Veteran's Day) and November 25 (Thanksgiving Eve).
- OFFICE CLOSED - The church office
will be closed on Thursday, November 26 and Friday, November 27 in observance of Thanksgiving. Lori will also not be
in the office on Wednesday, November 11.
- BLESSING SUNDAY , November 15 - Please
join us in worship on Sunday, November 15th for a special time to consider how we are to use our gifts of time, talent and
treasure. A Committment Sunday Luncheon will
follow worship at 12:00 noon.
- HARVEST HOME SUNDAY - On Sunday,
November 22nd we will once again be collecting non-perishable Thanksgiving food items to help needy families. Please
bring in your donations and place them in the baskets marked "Harvest Home".
- CHURCH VOLLEYBALL LEAGUE - Anyone
interested in playing on the church volleyball team should contact Lyndon Conrad. The November schedule includes
the following: 11/9 - 7:30 pm vs. Wurtemburg UP/Mountville; 11/16 - 8:30 pm vs. Burry's/COG; 11/30 - 6:30 pm vs. Portersville
Presbyterian. All games are played at the First Church of God on Mercer Road.
- BOAR'S HEAD PERFORMANCES - The
30th annual presentation of the Boar's Head Festival will occur on Saturday, November 28th at 7:00 pm; Saturday, December
5th at 5:00 & 7:00 pm; and Sunday, December 6th at 5:00 & 7:00 pm.
- AN ADULT FELLOWSHIP will be hosted
on Saturday night, November 21st by Donna & Tod Custer. Check with the church office or the Custers
for specific details.
