Chris White is inspired by realistic illustrators and painters, and strives to infuse life into his own artistic creations.

Chris has won a number of Conservation Stamp competitions, both in and out of state. His work has been displayed in galleries and art shows around the Chesapeake Bay region.

For eight years the Combined Federal Campaign of Central Maryland commissioned Chris to create original paintings of the wildlife, scenic and historic areas of Maryland. Prints of the painting were used as incentive awards for donations of $1,000.00 or more. Since introducing the print series, the number of donations has risen almost 400%. For his involvement Chris was awarded the National Community Service Award by the United Way of Central Maryland.

Chris also stays active creating illustrations for companies as diverse as the Red Cross and MAD Magazine. He has created licensed illustrations of such icons as The Three Stooges, Universal Movie Monsters, the TV show "Lost In Space", and the classic science fiction movie "Forbidden Planet". He was commissioned to create a series of paintings of the ships of "Star Trek". The American Fisheries Society honored Chris by commissioning him to create a painting featuring Baltimore’s Inner Harbor and marine life common to the Chesapeake Bay.

While maintaining a steady freelance career, Chris still works full time as a civilian for the Army at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. He creates 3-D computer animation and conceptual illustrations. Some of the awards Chris has earned during his career as a government employee include: The Federal Executive Board Gold Award; U.S. Army Commander’s Award for Civilian Service; U.S. Army Award for sustained superior performance as an illustrator; and the Department of the Army award for Customer Service Excellence.
