SERVING THE COMMUNITY FOR 43 YEARS
The Central Islip Civic Council is a non-profit, community based agency dedicated to improving the quality of life for all residents of Central Islip for the past 43 years. The Central Islip Civic Council maintains The Historic Heines Homestead buildings and grounds where we offer “A Step Back in Time” academic schoolhouse program, educational workshops and affordable housing for families and seniors. We have an emergency food pantry for our Central Islip residents with summer vegetables provided by our very own garden. We also sponsor free recreational activities, and cultural and holiday events. Our grounds offer a walking trail, lovely trees, flower gardens, and a vegetable garden. During the warmer season, families can enjoy seeing our chickens, turkey, sheep and calf. While visiting us you can walk about and see old historical buildings. We have a black smith shop from 1903, a one room school house replica from 1861, out houses, and a country store which helps us to provide funds that are put back into our emergency food pantry. You’re welcome to visit us anytime during the year. At 68 Wheeler Road, Central Islip 9:00am – 4:30pm M-F.
