Max was rescued from the local animal shelter on December 13th, 2002, which just so happened to be Friday the 13th.  Our lucky day and his too. He was born missing all of one back foot and has no toes on the other back foot.  Many people looked at him and his sisters but put him back when they saw his missing feet.  This just made us want him all the more and we've never regretted it.  He is not quite six months old yet and scheduled for his neuter.
All of our animals are spayed or neutered except out goats.

This website is about our animals and animals who touch our lives.

there are 17 can you find them all?

A little about us:  we've been married for 10 years. We have 17 cats, indoor only who have their own bedroom, two dogs, one puppy, and two pygmy goats.  We live on 3 acres of land in southern Oregon.  Our animals have all been rescued except the goats.  Our oldest cat will be 14 in April. Our oldest dog turned 4 years old in Dec 2002.  We volunteer at the local animal shelter one day a week, do their laundry for them and try to help animals get adopted out.  We've also had 2 foster dogs that we fortunately found homes for.  We are also members of the Bay Area Jaycees.  We keep very busy with all of these things but are enjoying the experience of setting up our own website.

boxholder.jpg

This was built specially for the cats litter boxes to go underneath and their daybed mattress on the top for them to lay on.  There is a doorway for them on the side and they have to go over rubber mats that help keep the litter tracking down.  On the front of this piece the gates opened up so I could pull the boxes out from the back and clean them then slide them back in.  I clean their boxes twice a day.  They also have covered boxes and this helps to keep the odor away as well as giving them plenty of privacy.

We painted the cats room with three gallons of paint and mixed all the colors ourselves.  Then I put in pictures of the cats with their name and birthday in the squares with pictures resembling them.  There were also a few squares with funny cat pictures or signs in them.  When we moved we had to paint over it so i'm glad I took these pictures.

This was the cats cafeteria.  When we painted their room and I dyed the curtains different colors.  One window had red and purple the other had blue and green.  When the painting was done we built this cafeteria and the bed/boxholder underneath it.  It was a lot of fun to do their room this way but we will do it differently this time. we're not sure how we're going to do it but will keep you posted as we discuss things and finally decide.
