The Roman Empire concentrated on power that denies the existence of spirit. The Inquisition suppressed any tailings of Goddess energy within the vast confines of the empire, leaving only egocentric concepts of power. If we research history we will see that the most enduring tool of the empire was reformation of spirituality into formalized religion. God became a single being, separate from all humans and accessible only through a state-sponsored class of priests. Eight hundred years later, western thinking still embraces these concepts enforced by the Romans.
We are now entering the Age of Aquarius where Roman-taught thinking patterns have produced a dying planet through misogynism and greed. Science struggles against capitalism and capitalism against science. Religion wars against science as it has since the Romans set the stage for western thinking. Now we are facing manmade and natural disasters as the organism Earth reforms our constructs. The dawning of this Age is centered on liquids; oil, water, and the Earth's atmosphere.
Are there any answers and, if so, where are they? The answers are inside of all of us waiting to emerge as we ask the questions. Science, particularly through the new-found ability to view the microcosmic world, shows the patterns that give us the key to reformation. Mathematics, physical science, in particularly quantum physics, is showing us that everything that exists is related to, and dependent upon, everything else that exists. All we must do is observe to recognize that we are the observer and the observer affects all experimentation. Where is God? God is everywhere, God is everyone, God is everything. Jesus of Nazareth knew this when he declared, "You are gods."
