My friend and law school classmate, David Dow, has written an important
new book about his crusade against the death penalty: Autobiography of an Execution. While I share Dow's opposition to
capital punishment, we have somewhat different perspectives -- which we presented here.
I recently stumbled on the 1995 movie "Citizen X," and recommend it to anyone interested in criminal
justice. Based on a true story, it chronicles how corruption impeded the investigation of a serial killer in the Soviet Union
in the 1980s. The film's brief treatment of false confessions is spot on. Send a comment
