David B. Smith and Jackson McDade are organizing an outdoor acoustic music mini-festival called The Last Waltz On Grand Street as part of the Northside Festival. It will be in the backyard of HQ Gallery on 236 Grand St. in Williamsburg on thursday June 11 from 6-10pm. It is sort of a farewell concert / party for the gallery which is probably closing very soon.

In The Gallery:
Gloved Impediment
Jonathan VanDyke

Artist will be present for Williamsburg Second Fridays on June 12th

The Artist Jonathan VanDyke has created a site-specific installation of new work, augmented by a performance on the evening of the opening. VanDyke’s installation is a realization of the artist’s ongoing impulse to make work that slowly unfolds and changes as it performs for the viewer. The central form of Gloved Impediment is an 8’ tall by 25’ long canvas, hung just in front of the gallery’s main wall, loosely, as if it is a curtain. Behind the canvas, a system of tubes irrigates its surface with highly diluted liquid paint.
