Hello Philippine Collectors,
Refer to "BID LIsts" for new Philippine Mailbid XIII". Largest sale ever with 2157 lots, including 150 lots of books and 65 lots of Philippine and WWII stamps from the C.M. Nielsen collection. These are just a small sample of items from his collection and future sales will greatly expand the variety of items from his collection (90 boxes worth!!). Mailbid XIII also includes 21 consignments of SCARCE coins, tokens, medals, and all types of Philippine currency. The Guerilla Currency offering includes the largest group offered in many years of SAMAR and its municipality notes: 228 lots. Mailbid XIII ends 25 August 2009. Bids accepted by U.S. Mail and email.
I have in stock the following books/study if you are interested:
a. Lyman Allen's 6th (2008-2009) edition of "US/Philippine Coins" is in stock now. As in the past, the edition contains new varieties and updated certified coins' listings from the different grading services. Values have been vastly updateds. Also included is a coin checklist at the back. Price is $28 Postpaid to US and APO/FPO addresses. Price to Overseas addresses is $35 for airmail postage. (I also have the previous 5th edition available for $18 postpaid.)
b. "History and Mintage Philippine Counterstamped Coins 1828-1839" by Quint Jose MA. Oropilla Y Fortich, M.D. It is well researched containing original archival documents, many photos, and important information about counterstamped coins never before published. This is a large (9 1/2 by 12 1/2 inches) hardbound 225 page book weighing about 4 lbs for shipping. For any Philippine or Spanish Colonies collector having interest in this unique series, you need this book. Cost in the US is $120 plus $6 for insured book rate to US addresses. (Overseas addresses please inquire about shipping rates to your country.)
c. Also available: "The Philippine 1906S Philippine Peso, Die Characteristics: Genuine and Fake", August 2004. I initially presented this research study at PCF 2004. It has 20 pages with 13 of those color photographs. Cost is $8.00 postpaid within US and $10.00 overseas. It was published in the ANA Journal, Summer 2006 edition.
