We are not a kennel, we are a family looking to provide other families with the love that only these dogs can give.

Dogue De Bordeaux-all about the breed

As we have said Porter and Rosa were both picks of their litters and are quality specimens of the breed.  When purchasing a puppy, you need to be certain that this is the breed for you and your family.  All puppies are cute and lovable but they grow into very large dogs.  It was 20yrs ago when Charlie first spotted this breed, and he has done an extreme amount of research about them.  They come, like with all breeds, with some health and behavior issues.  They require alot of time and energy devoted to training and socializing, if you do not socialize these dogs with people and other animals they will tend to be aggressive towards things they don't know.  Through no fault of their own, they are just trying to protect those they love.  We have also learned that our dogs do not tolerate any dog food with corn, soy, or wheat in it.  Raw eggs are good for their coats as well as fish oils.  We prefer to feed our dogs lamb or chicken and rice dog food in addition to their supplements.  Vitamins aimed for healthy bones and joints are a great idea also!  Some of the possible health problems are like any other large breed dog with hips, shoulders, and elbows being problem areas.  Dry skin can become an issue depending on the climate around the dog.  Dry air = dry skin.  The last major health worry is the heat (heat stroke), they do not do well in hot situations, they need to be in the air conditioning on hot days, and have a shady place for them to lay on sunny days.  The little plastic baby pools are fun for the dogs to cool off in.  This is not a breed to jump into quickly, do your homework.  But if you do decide that this is the breed for you, then you will be truly blessed, for few can say that they are protected, loved, and celebrated by  "The Guardian"   The Dogue De Bordeaux.

All about the dogues

Porter is going to be 4 years old on June 24th, Rosa is going to be 3 years old on June 16th.  Porter has a very rich mahogany color coat with a white patch on his chest, a large head with many wrinkles.  Rosa is a lighter red with a white diamond on her chest, and what I like to call a french manicure, white tips on her toes.  They have very different personalities, Porter has that laid back, anything goes outlook on life while Rosa is more energetic and always wants to play.

The Dogue De Bordeaux has a relatively unknown slang name, roughly translated from Greek, "Atlas". Atlas is the Greek God who holds the world on his shoulders.

We love our dogs like we love our kids, they are not just dogs but truly part of our family.
