"Our Family's Cellar" full of McMillions, Edens, Haynes, Taylors, Smarts and Woods

Hi, my name is Janet Smart and this is my Home page. I live in Ripley, WV. I grew up in Kanawha County, WV. I lived up a holler surrounded by family and it was great. My grandparents on my mother's side had 10 children. Most of their children and their families lived up the holler along the same road. We were a very close family. It was a wonderful time growing up in the 60's with most of my cousins and Aunts and Uncles living near each other. It was a lot different than life now a days with family members scattered everywhere.

You will find out a little bit about my Family Tree, hobbies and our Family Cookbook. I put together our Family Cookbook the summer of 1996. I got it finished in time to bring copies of it to our Family Reunion. Everyone loved it, I'm really glad I put it together. In June 2005 I put together another Family Cookbook in time for our Family Reunion in June.

I am a stay at home mother with 3 boys, 2 are college graduates and my youngest is still in college.

Along with genealogy, I also love to quilt (though I'm not very good at it) and pick blackberries in the Summer. I make a blackberry cobbler everyone loves! I am a writer (unpublished writer at the moment) but will continue to submit my stories until I get something other than a rejection letter. I like writing children's stories and hope someday to write our family history.
