James Alexander Edens (son of James & Arinda) died 1862 in Civil War

Jesse Edens (son of Leander) member of the 7th WV Calvary Co. A  PC#588295  (7/26/61-8/1/65) Deserted 8 Jan 1863 Coalsmouth, WV captured and held for court martial in Feb 1864 - no mention of court martial.

Crocket J. Haynes was a Private in the 7th WV Calvary Co. A (7/27/1861 - 8/1/1865)

James H. Mays (husband of Cleopatra Hatcher, 2nd wife Mary Eliz Hatcher, dau. of Uriah Sr., his wives were cousins) served in Co. F 22 Va. Inf.

Henry F. McMillion he was enlisted in a company commanded by Capt. Turner known as the Wyoming, Raleigh, and McDowell Companies Militia.  Organized shortly before the war ended.

Henry McMillion he was listed on the roster of the Flattop Copperheads compiled 28 March 1862.  R. B. Foley, Capt.  (They were a guerrilla band recruited for local defense w/o official status.  The Federal Army called them Bushwhackers; the confederates called them homeguards.
