On June 1, 2 and 3 the fishing for big bass on Michigan's Portage Lake with my sister Dar and brother-in-law
Doug was as easy as 1, 2, 3--if you knew what lure to use and exactly the right color. (Talk to me sometime.)
All three of us took large numbers of big bass, both large and smallmouth. The rock bass were also huge and good eating.

Okay, Dar; enough, already with the 4-1/2 lb. smallies. I'm the guide who put you on the fish!

Dan McFadden with a nice St. Joe River northern pike.

|
A honkin' big bluegill from the backyard pond.

|
A nice pile of 'gills from Grandpa Petry's pond.

My colleague, Pastor Rich Troyer, with a nice St. Joe smallmouth.

Now she's showing off...with a 6 lb. bucketmouth.
Dar took big bass honors with her humongous largemouth, but I bested her in smallmouth fishing by a little bit--a half
a pound or so. Doug caught lots of nice fish, but Dar was holding her mouth right for the lunkers.

Nice try, Doug, but your wife grabbed all the glory this trip!

Dad & Mom Petry with some Klinger Lake bass.

Iris takes her first ride in Grandpa's D-Star.
Iris enjoyed her first-ever ride in my D-Star while Isaac and I did a little fishing. Isaac caught some fun-sized
bass and an eater perch...which he ate. Didn't even offer me a bite after I cleaned it, fried it, served it...oh, well.

A nice perch for Isaac.
