Now and then, I like to pretend I know something about audio editing on the pc. Here are a few examples of my work. All samples were done with the sound editing program called Goldwave. Click here to get it. The samples are tiny, and should play in any audio/video media playing program. Enjoy!
Our first guest, here to say a few words, is Dave's "talking PDA". The device is called a Braillenspeak 640. It has a seven-keyed "chording" keyboard and synthetic speech output. Sadly, these units are no longer made, but, there are still plenty of them about and in use. He (I can only think of the unit as male) is named Junior. Click here to hear what he has to say.
In the next bit, we have a sample of my own lovely voice:). The raw version of this file has some horrible electrical noise on it. To spare my listeners the nasty stuff, I've employed Goldwave's noise reduction. If you really really want to hear me raw, that can be arranged. Ok, Ok, enough excuses. Click here to listen, already!
Next, up at the mic, is Dave's screen reading progam called JAWS For Windows. This program lets him use Windows applications by providing synthetic speech output and keyboard-based ways to emulate mousing. If yow wanna meet Mr. JAWS, click here.
I'm damned good at sending and receiving Morse Code! In this offering, I'm sending a "CQ". That's a message we ham radio ops send when we want to talk to any random person who happens by our frequency. Wanna know what it sounds like? Click here!
