Biography

David Douglas Rippel was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 1964. David completed his undergraduate studies at Louisiana State University in Economics. He served in the United States Army as a Captain in the Corps of Engineers. Upon release from active duty he attended Southern Law School and received his Juris Doctor degree in 1995. Upon graduation David received a Judicial Clerkship. After serving in government, He began the practice criminal defense exclusively. David is licensed to practice in the United States Supreme Court, Texas and Louisiana and all of the federal courts.

David continues to serve in the United States Army Reserve, has achieved the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and served as a battalion commander. He has served in support operations for Noble Eagle, Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom.

David lives in Plano with his wife Laura and their two children Benjamin and Catherine. The Rippels are members of St. Mark's and are actively involved in the community. They enjoy traveling and spend most weekends watching their children participate in sports.
