So much is happening:
On October 7th, I'll be appearing at World Cafe Live at 30th and Walnut. I'll be playing with a variety of guest musicians, including : Jeremy Berberian (TS Monk, Eric Mintel) on percussion, Elliott Levin (Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes, Cecil Taylor) on flute and sax, Mark Margolies (Blues RX) on lead guitar, and, of course, Richard Brown (harmonica) and Sharon Abbott (harmony, mandolin) from the David Kleiner 3. I'll be previewing songs from my upcoming CD "The News That's Fit to Sing." Click for more details from the WCL Calendar Page.
Speaking of the new CD... it's almost done. And thanks to Gene Goldsmith (who produced Pat Wictor's last two CDs), the album is both musical and thought provoking. Jen Schonwald, from Full Frontal Folk and now David Bromberg and the Angel Band, is on harmony. Cheryl Prashker has completed the percussion. I even have a first draft of the cover.

CDReviewsonline recently reviewed "This Human Heart." Here are two excerpts:
The outstanding musicianship, variations in instrumentation and vocal arrangements help keep all the songs interesting and fresh. But it is Kleiner's well crafted songwriting that carries the CD from start to finish. There are no weak songs...
I have been listening to a lot of CDs from independent artists recently, and this one stands out as one of the best in terms of musicianship, songwriting and production.
At myspace.com/davidkleiner, I'm posting the comedy sketches from my segment on the Billy Sunshine Show, Sundays from 6:00-8:00 (EST), at KRXA on your Internet dial. I've also posted a recording of my new song "That's Why I Fight."
A review of "This Human Heart: appeared in the Summer 2006 edition of Sing Out Magazine, the venerable granddaddy of folk magazines. Here's an excerpt:
The 13 cuts take on passengers for the agelessly repeating journeys of bitterness, aching, loss, devotion, fulfillment, and passion that embrace the realities of loving. Kleiners vocals have a rough quality that is intense, and with love songs, its all about intensity and passion.

DJ Jan Nary, from Planet Radio out of Queensland, Australia, continues to support "This Human Heart," playing cuts from the album ("Hopeless Romantic" and "If I Never Write ANother Song") on two shows this December. He wrote and said, "I liked the CD on the first listen and like it more each time I play it."
Thanks to DJ, Mark Michaelis for his support of "This Human Heart." He played "Cape May Waltz" on his show Acoustic Harmony on WGDR in Plainfield, Vermont and had this to say, "Cape May Waltz is truly a beautiful song, it does flow wonderfully and yes, the fiddle work and harmonies are great, a perfect summer song! Cape May does have a special meaning for me, as my wife and I used to vacation in Ocean City, NJ and often would find our way down to Cape May for the day. I did get another song off "This Human Heart" on the air last night ... 'Damn This Aching Heart,' love that one too."
If you're looking for the David Kleiner who is from New Jersey and once had a Mexican Rabbi before meeting his wife Liz Pagan, you've got the wrong east coast singer-songwriter guitar player named David Kleiner. To find him, click on the photo of his terrific new CD:
