Refuse to give into all the hype and ads. Make it a buy-nothing Christmas. Honest Monkey is trying hard to do this. Some of our gifts this year will be donations to charitable organizations in someones name instead of something wrapped.
Buy Nothing Day at adbusters.orgHM found this article interesting. Facts about recycling - in the majority of cases, it makes sense to do it.
Recycling information from The EconomistHM got this a while ago (last year) but wanted to share it with you. HM can not have Monosodium Glutamate. Gives him headaches - migranes. Hard to find restaurants that don't use it in some capacity. Dressings and sauces and soups are generally to be avoided. Noticed a headache after eating at "On the Border". Wrote them to ask about it. Here is their reply:
September 29, 2006
Dear Mr. Wright,
Thank you for your recent inquiry regarding On The Border menu items. To address your concerns, On The Border does not add or purchase products that contain monosodium glutamate. However, many of our food items contain naturally-occurring glutamate, such as autolyzed yeast extract, hydrolyzed vegetable proteins, sodium caseinate and gelatin, that can potentially cause 'monosodium glutamate-like' reactions in some individuals.
Out of an abundance of caution and concern for your health, we cannot recommend any menu entrée that would eliminate the potential of your consuming one of the aforementioned additives.
Thank you.

HM was happy for their honesty and concern.
Badly written poem
Five or six syllables there?
I don't know for sure
Yeah, it's been a while. Honest Monkey guesses he mellowed out for a while and had nothing to get upset about. Not really all that upset about this, more like annoyed. Verizon apparently advertises "unlimited" download on some of their wireless accounts, but in fact the limit is 5GB. Seems like false advertising to me.
