My “Little” Helpers

I am working on this project in a sort of add-on garage. It has no doors and really only partial walls. So I get a few helpers aside from our various outdoor cats who do not seem to come around when I am working. Too much noise I suspect.

The other day I was working on the bumper a discovered this “hand” print of a visitor. I laughingly called it a Menehune after the small workers of Hawaiian legend.

Some of you probably recognize this as a raccoon paw print but it looked so much like a tiny hand print.

I also found this denizen of the garage. We had a lengthy discussion about the boundaries of each others territories. I explained that she was free to roam around as much as she liked as long as I was not involved and she was welcome to all the prey she could handle again as long as I wasn't involved. I have not seen her again, which is fine with me. She was about 3 inches across the legs. BIG for Pennsylvania! (Picture is about life size on my screen.)

My next helper I didn't catch with the camera. It was a field mouse. I sure hope it stays out of the car. The final “helpers” are the carpenter bees which persist in drilling 1/2” holes in the rafters overhead and dribbling both saw?dust and some sort of waxy stuff all over. I have declared war on them for the mess. I'm not sure who is winning..There are also mud dauber wasps which make a great noise while laying down mud for their “nests”. All in all an interesting place to work and watch.
