Research Projects:
(1) In 2007, I sent a peer-reviewed research paper to
PRE-COLUMBIANA, a Journal of Long-Distance Contacts,
entitled: "Comparing Chinese and Mesoamerican Calendar
Dates," which focuses on comparisons of Chinese and
Mesoamercan calendrical day names and their sequencing.
The paper was accepted and will appear in 2008.

(2) In late 2007, I began writing another research paper
for PRE-COLUMBIANA, which focuses on comparisons of
Chinese and Mesoamercan number words.  The paper has
not been submittet yet.

Other Activities:
I organized and hosted a faculty workshop, held on 19
September 2007, which focused on the particular problems
Japanese ESL students face while being socialized (i.e.
acculturated) to an American-style university ESL setting
such as we have in Boston.  The workshop was a success.
