Improvisator

Project: Improvisator

INTRO:

I ended my project!!!!, it's in the same line as other commercial programs like jammer and others. But this was my project to get my degree in computer science.

This program of course is not for commercial purposes.

ABSTRACT:

This program uses algorithmic methods to generate solos and melodies over a given MIDI file. The techniques that are used are from the Artificial Intelligence world, to be more precise probability methods.

The program is in its release version.

It was developed over Visual C++ 6.0 for Windows using UML as base methodology, a version for linux would be great but I won't have enough time for this... maybe next time.

The teacher that worked in the review of the material as well as my tutor for this project was Jose A. Gámez in the UCLM campus of Albacete.

DEVELOPEMENT IN SORT

  1. - User Interface and Database classes for handling MIDI files and MIDI events.
  2. - Analysis of the music, I used some of the work from Daniel Sleator and David Temperley, but adapted to my needs. To get more info about them use this link.
  3. - AI techniques and tuning of the system. I would like to use as knowledge the books from Frank Gambale about guitar solos techniques.
  4. - Documentation and final release

STATE OF THE ART:

Done , presented and scored a 10 of 10.

FEEDBACK AND ANSWERS:

Any questions? Want the program (in English), the docs (in Spanish sorry), whatever.... let me know, I'll send them to you free if you give me a good reason.
