The
sheriff’s office provides critical functions in our busy, growing County. Partners with the police department, they
make sure Chesterfield citizens are safe and that our public safety institutions are top notch. The
sheriff’s office is responsible for the oversight and security of the County jail, the multiple courthouses and the
facilitation and delivery of civil process documents. While many of these activities often go unnoticed by the general public,
we all count on them to make our community safe and secure. The job of Chesterfield
County sheriff is too important to be passed back and forth among the
good ole boys as reward for goodness knows what.
Unfortunately, this is exactly what we are facing right now. As you may well have read in the newspaper, our longtime
sheriff retired just a few months ago, just to install his favorite protégé as sheriff in time for the fall elections. This is unacceptable - risking the safety and security of our community to reward
a buddy.
I’m running because I have had it with this good ole boy, "business as usual" system. I have over twenty years in
law enforcement and over twenty years living in Chesterfield
County. I know this County, I know the courthouse and I know the sheriff’s
department. My priority will be the citizens of Chesterfield
and I will make sure we have the best trained most competent deputies in the Commonwealth. Our citizens deserve no less!
