1916 Chester Township Selected Large Land Owners

These are Tax Rateables from microfilm at the Burlington County Tax Board. Listed are some main Chester Township (Moorestown, Lenola, Maple Shade) land owners. There is much to be gleamed as well from individual lot land owners. There is also an astounding difference in Maple Shade's growth from 1906, only 10 years prior.

The Barlow family-

Also note that tracts owned by John Harned and Horace Roberts are to be developed by Barlow & Co., So Barlows are involved elsewhere as well. Thomas Barlow Sr. was also the President of the Maple Heights Land Co, which owned Maple Heights. I do not know the members. The main builder for Barlow & Co. was Oscar Anderson.

The Cutler family-

Interesting that a lot on the George Martin tract is on "Cutler Avenue."

Horace Roberts-

Evergreen Terrace is the Nathan Perkins farm. Maple Terrace is the Ben Stiles farm (Stiles Avenue).
Maple Shade Farms is the Mecray Extension renamed. Maple Croft is the Vanvane farm. Orchard Heights is the Slim farm.

Some of the Collins family-

Under Lester Collins- Forklanding Road, adjoining H. Roberts, 124 acres, is the Collins Lane house land.

The Sauselein family-

Ida Sauselein Tract is where the Congregational Church was built.
