1983 NFC Championship: Redskins (24) vs. 49ers (21) at RFK
Quality: Very Good
The Redskins lead 21-0 in the fourth, but Montana makes it interesting, almost bringing the niners back to win. What's really insane is that Moseley misses four - count 'em - FOUR field goals. They would've been up 30-0 at one point, but after his final miss, Montana throws a TD bomb on the very next play and the comeback is on.

The Redskins benefit from a questionable pass interference call near the end of the game and Moseley finally kicks a go-ahead field goal. You could tell the Skins were getting a bit complacent at this point, foreshadowing their performance in SB18. Too bad, because this was probably the best Redskin team ever - they should've won the Super Bowl, but they lost their focus.

Some Niner fans who remember this game will still whine that their team got "screwed" by the pass interference call, but if you watch this game, it's obvious that the niners should've never been in the game to begin with, and the only reason they were was because of Moseley's big-time kicking slump.

This game came to me on DVD, so it did not go through my rigorous encoding process. It's obvious that the master VHS copy of this game was great, but whoever did the conversion crammed a bit too much material onto the DVD-R, so there's some occasional pixellation.
