1984 Regular Season: Redskins (29) vs. Cardinals (27) at RFK
Quality: Very Good
This is just a fantastic game, typical of a lot of Redskin/Cardinal matchups from the 80's. It's all the more special in that Monk sets the single season reception record in this game (The ball he caught for the record can be seen at the Hall of Fame in Ohio).

This game is for, as Summerall says, "all the marbles." The winner is the NFC East Champion (yes, believe it or not, the Cardinals were pretty good this year), but if the Cards lose, they are out of the playoffs completely (Redskins still would get the wildcard berth).

The Skins take an early and commanding lead, but Lomax and Roy Green of the Cards, under Coach Jim Hannifan, go nuts in the second half and actually come back to take the lead, 27-26 in the fourth. Moseley missed an extra point earlier, but he redeems himself with a 37-yard boot with just over a minute to play, and the Redskins retake the lead by two. But the Cards come storming back and barely get a 50-yard FG attempt off as time expires. It sails short and wide left, and the Skins are the champions once again. Too bad they'd lose to the Bears in the first game of the playoffs in two weeks.
