| 1990 NFC Wildcard Game: Redskins (20) vs. Eagles (7) in Philly |
| Quality: Very Good |
| What a great game this is. The Redskins gain revenge for the infamous "body bag" game earlier in the year, when nine Redskin players were lost with injuries, including all quarterbacks on the roster (Brian Mitchell had to come in and play QB).
Not only do the Redskins dominate the Eagles, but they cause the firing of head coach Buddy Ryan the next day. This game is also notable for the appearance of Jim McMahon as the Eagles backup. He stinks up the joint and Cunningham is quickly put back into the game. Monk is especially good in this one, catching a TD and playing his heart out. Any time an Eagles fan mentions "The Body Bag" game, just remind them of who won the game that REALLY mattered later that same year. That should shut 'em up. |
