Our journey......
"Claire"
"Claire" finished her Championship with three 5-point Specialty
Majors at the age of 19 months. Over a 13 month time period, (12 weekends with 24 shows entered) she accumulated 3 Best
Puppy, 1 Puppy Sporting Group 3, her 1st point going BOW at age six months, Best In Sweeps, several major reserves and RWB.
She also won her puppy classes 12 times. (with competition in all but 1) Her Majors were ISCO - Aug.08 from the 9- 12
puppy class, ISCM - Sept. 08 from the 12 - 18 puppy class and Potomac Irish Setter Club April 17, 2009, from OPEN & BOW
to finish. "Claire" is exclusively handled by Coleen McGee.
"Claire" surprised us by going BOB at NCKC on May22, 2009,
followed by Best in Specialty at the GTISC specialty. In August, at the ISCO Specialty, Claire earned an AOM. The following
day at the Lorain County KC show, went BOS. She is not yet two years old.
Our trip to the Irish Setter Club of Michigan earned "Claire"
her second Award of Merit. (sept '09)
We attended the Turkey Cluster in West Friendship MD Nov.
20, 21, & 22. We had a very exciting weekend with receiving a BOS, BOB & another BOB that took us to a Group
2 placement! Not bad after only our 4th trip to the group ring and 26 months old!
We end the year with going Best of Opposite 3 of the 4 days
at the Cleveland Crown Classic to the #1 All-breed Sporting Irish!
2009 has been quite an adventure!
We look forward to 2010 and what ever is ahead.
2010 began with a lot of snow so we decided to stay home
until March. WPKA brought us back-to-back BOB wins. With only occasional shows through the spring, our next
big stop was our own GTISC weekend of suppported entries and specialties. We love being in the ring with the top dogs.
When competition is tough, we seem to shine within. AKC started Grand CH titles mid-May. We ended 4
days of shows with two Select Bitch and two BOS, which in turn gave us 14 GCH pts. in 4 days, all majors! Our lives
with Claire just continues to amaze not only us, but her breeders and handler. We will continue to carefully and sporadically
choose our shows, enjoying the ride along the way.
In only a few eekends, "Claire" finished her GCH at the Lorrain
Co KC show, done in 8 majors. We finished out 2010 with 50 GCH points and #15 IS GCH. "Claire" was the 17th IS
to achieve this.
2011 has us off and running. Three weekends
of shows in January brought 11 points, that included 2 BOB, 2 BOS and 3 select. A first for all of us, we were
listed in Canine Chronicle at #9 Breed list and #15 all-breed. How fun for us. We stayed home all of February and
only went to MSDA in March. With a BOB and BOS, we received 4 more pts. April started with two BOS in Pittsburgh
and 2 pts. Harrisburg earned BOS and 1 pt. The second day was cancelled due to weather. We look
forward to each show for fun and adventure.
