Our journey......
"Claire"
"Claire" finished her Championship with three 5-point Specialty
Majors at the age of 19 months. Over a 13 month time period, (12 weekends with 24 shows entered) she accumulated 3 Best
Puppy, 1 Puppy Sporting Group 3, her 1st point going BOW at age six months, Best In Sweeps, several major reserves and RWB.
She also won her puppy classes 12 times. (with competition in all but 1) Her Majors were ISCO - Aug.08 from the 9- 12
puppy class, ISCM - Sept. 08 from the 12 - 18 puppy class and Potomac Irish Setter Club April 17, 2009, from OPEN & BOW
to finish. "Claire" is exclusively handled by Coleen McGee.
"Claire" surprised us by going BOB at NCKC on May22, 2009,
followed by Best in Specialty at the GTISC specialty. In August, at the ISCO Specialty, Claire earned an AOM. The following
day at the Lorain County KC show, went BOS. She is not yet two years old.
Our trip to the Irish Setter Club of Michigan earned "Claire"
her second Award of Merit. (sept '09)
We attended the Turkey Cluster in West Friendship MD Nov.
20, 21, & 22. We had a very exciting weekend with receiving a BOS, BOB & another BOB that took us to a Group
2 placement! Not bad after only our 4th trip to the group ring and 26 months old!

We have had Irish since 1975, hiding our first little girl, "Maggie", in
our apartment for 3 days, while waiting to move into our first home. We were introduced to these lovely red dogs by
friends who had two of their own. Over the next 24 years, we owned 4 Irish setters. I don't really know where they
came from, but we loved them, just the same. Then in 2000, we went online to look for another...and here is where
our story "really begins".

We found our dogs while searching for breeders. One week after losing
a 5 year old boy, named "Jake", a litter was born in New York. I received an exciting phone call that our "new
boy" was here. Ten weeks later, Touchstone's Chills n Thrills, "Ian" came home with us. How our lives have changed
since that phone call!! The world of "dogs" opened up for us! We never knew what was out there!

Our lives have been filled with many new things. We started
with conformation classes..discovering it was not for us. So, we hired a handler. Traveling was an adventure.
The hustle and bustle of the dog shows are always a fun experience. We learned SO MUCH! I have
been so fortunate to have traveled all over the US, attending the ISCA Nationals in Kentucky, Washington State, Rhode Island, Michigan
& Arizona. I have met so many new people and made friends from all over the US and Canada. Learning the breed standard
and trying to groom....so much to learn. I am now attempting rally, something I can
do with the dogs myself. I call it "teaching old dogs new tricks"....this will be a real test, not only for the dogs, but
for me!
I look to my friends for help and guidance...to educate me whenever I try something
new. I hope they can survive me and all of my questions. What wonderful friends that I have. I cherish each and
every one of them!
