W3KM`s Free Amateur Radio software
W3KM`s Freeware
° GenLog
I started writing Windows GenLog in the early 90`s since I wanted to fool around in
HF contests, but didn`t want to spend time configuring software for each contest.
Also if I was the author, I could make changes and add contests at will. I didn`t
want on-line/CD callsign lookup or my radio/rotor controlled by the logger.
When I was giving the software to friends, there was a fair amount of interest because
it was easy to use and the logger supported many contests. So, I decided to make it
available to everyone. There are no setup files to configure before starting a contest
since almost everything is done for you from info saved in the setup form.
Users give me ideas and find my coding errors and I don`t mind working with them to
make the logger more useful. Also, I depend on users to help me update the software
to follow contest rule changes, which sometimes happens post contest.
° KM Rover
I created this VHF rover logger in 1998 for use by ROVERS in the `Big 4` ARRL
VHF/UHF contests. It has encoded outputs to drive a band switching decoder. Users
wanted a GPS interface and keystroke shortcuts added so logging could be done while
being mobile throughout the contest. The GPS function tells the operator the rotator
beam heading, to enable working stations while driving. See Initial use instructions
to get started and learn the logger.
° VHFLOG
This logger is totally ARRL VHF/UHF contest oriented and has encoded outputs to drive
a band switching decoder. First written in DOS in the 80`s, then converted to Windows
using the second version of VB. See the Initial use instructions to get started.
° Cabrillo Evaluator
First written in 2000, now offered to contest sponsors wishing to migrate to Cabrillo
files for log submission. SW reads and scores Cabrillo files for 328 contests. It can
score 1500 logs in auto batch run. Also useful for contesters wishing to check their
Cabrillo score prior to submission. Read more. See the Initial use instructions to get
started and learn the software.
° Other free software.
Writing ham radio software is a fun pastime and it has allowed me to meet interesting
people on the internet. Thanks for the interest in my software.
