Joseph H. Lambert was born c. 1806, probably in Greene County, Pennsylvania. In Aug 1850, he was a farmer living in Taylor County, [West] Virginia with his wife Anna Williamson and their children, Joseph H. (b. 1836), Elizabeth A. (b. 1838), James W. (b. 1839), Susan (b. 1838), William P. (b. 1845), Sarah J. (b. 1846), and David (b. 1849). The family grew even larger with the births of Firmen (b. 1851), Henry Anthony Rymer (b. 1853), and Minerva (b. 1857). Joseph and Anna appeared on the 1880 census for Booths Creek Township, Taylor County, West Virginia, but neither was enumerated on the 1900 census.

Henry Anthony Rymer Lambert was born on 10 May 1853 in Boothsville, Booths Creek Township, Taylor County, [West] Virginia. Sometime between 04 Aug 1870 and 1880, Henry migrated from West Virginia to Ohio, probably looking for work in the rapidly-growing industries in the Hocking Valley. He married Mary Elizabeth Nutter, daughter of John L. Nutter and Clarissa Whetstone, on 09 Sep 1879/1880 in Perry County, Ohio. They lived in a rented home and Henry worked in the coal mines to support his growing family: James Williamson (b Dec 1880), Mary Alma Lambert (b. 14 Nov 1881), Firman Arthur (b. Aug 1882), John J. (b. Feb 1884), Joseph Henry (b. 26 Jan 1893), Annie May (b. 22 Mar 1894), and Goldie Edna (b. 28 Feb 1899)

By 1910, Henry bought a farm and moved his family to Gore, Falls-Gore Township, Hocking County, Ohio. By 1920, he was back working as a laborer for Keota Mining.  About 1923, Henry retired from the coal mines and he and Mary moved from Gore to Logan.  He and Mary lived at 185 Culver Street when he died on 29 Nov 1931 at age 78. Mary died the next year. They are buried in Gore Cemetery.

Goldie Edna Lambert was born on 28 Feb 1899 in Philo, Harrison Township, Muskingum County, Ohio. She married David Edgar Burgess, son of Amos G. Burgess and Estella Lanning, circa 1917.  By 1957, they had 6 grown children and 99 acres of land. Goldie died on 25 Oct 1972 in Logan, Falls Township, Hocking County, Ohio, at age 73.  She was buried on 28 Oct 1972 in Gore Cemetery.
