New Additions!

It’s not often that shelters can show you what they think your new puppy is going to be like when it gets older. Much of the time even the breed is an educated guess--and we aren’t so proud that we don’t sometimes say, “I don’t know, it will be about 30 pounds”!

So we’re a bit excited--if nervous--to welcome Cuddles and her brand new litter of puppies into our shelter. Cuddles herself is a Labrador Retriever mix, with a bright personality and, as her name suggests, all the love in the world for her human companions.

On March 3, very late at night, Cuddles gave birth to 6 happy and healthy puppies. If all goes well, the pups will be ready to go home sometime around May 5--just eight short weeks from now! We invite people to come see the new additions, and will permit holds with a $25.00 deposit beginning in a few weeks. Keep in mind that when you see them, they will be sleeping 90% of the time and eating the other 10%, but by the time you bring them home they will be rambunctious and curious. A puppy is a big responsibility and we encourage everyone to take the time to consider whether or not they are ready for that responsibility.
