Rise of Aester Steampunk LARP
(Summer 2009)
"In
1862, the world we had known came to its end. Rising sea levels
engulfed entire coastlines; navigation foundered as compasses spun
uselessly with the shifting of the magnetic poles and the Ęster blocked
out sun and stars. Millions died in the floods. Millions more succumbed
to starvation and disease as they fled the darkness encroaching from
the poles. Eighty years ago, the Ęster swallowed our world."
This is a brand-new live-action roleplaying setting in the early stages
of development. So far I've been tapped to do the upcoming webcomic
(with the able connivance of veteran comics illustrator Anthony Hicks)
and other miscellaneous flavor material -- we will see what else lies
down the road. Who will
you be after the Rise of Aester?

Village Theatre's 2009-10
Season Announced!
Another fall is swiftly bearing down on
us, and with it a yummily varied bonbon assortment of offerings at
Village Theatre. Naturally the ones you're most
interested in are the ones I'm playing
concertmaster/solo violin for! And those would be Chasing Nicolette,
a new musical about the (they promise!) hilarious complications that
ensue when a medieval Christian count falls in love with a Muslim
princess -- from the same creative team that brought us Stunt Girl last
season; and Meet Me in
St. Louis, best known for the "Trolley Song," "Have
Yourself a Merry Little Christmas," and of course the title tune.
Read more about the upcoming season at the Village Theatre webpage. |

San
Diego Comic-Con, July 23-27, 2008
I will be attending my very first
San Diego Comic-Con this year. I'm always
eager to meet fellow creative folk, so if you catch me there, feel free
to say hello! In particular, I'm looking for artists open to
collaborating on comics, manga or graphic novel projects. But I would
also be delighted to hear from fellow writers, or publishers who may be
seeking someone for freelance writing/editing. Drop me an email and we
can arrange to meet as leisure permits.
More information on the con can be found at the Comic-Con
official website

Village
Theatre -- Beauty and the Beast, November 2008
In addition to my work with the
Tacoma Symphony, I will be joining the Village Theater pit orchestra
once again this fall as concertmaster for their production of Disney's
Beauty and the Beast. It's much too early to speak for this specific
show of course, but Village always boasts some of the finest casts in
the nation and I can feel pretty confident in guaranteering a good
time! I will also be playing in their production of Show Boat (swoon)
later in the 2008-2009 season.
More information on the production can be found at the Village Theater website.
