For safety reasons, any rider over 200lbs will not be able to ride. This is for the health of our horses and the safety of our riders. Alternative means of interaction with horses will be recommended for individuals who would still like to participate in an equine-facilitated activity. Other programs offered for participants who exceed our weight limit are Therapeutic Grooming and Showmanship.

  • To accommodate everyone, lessons must start on time. Anyone arriving 15 minutes late will participate in ground work only. Anyone arriving 25 minutes late will forfeit the lesson entirely and will not be reimbursed.
  • If a rider can not attend class for any reason there will be no refunds, unless in the case of illness. 24 hour cancellation is needed for a refund or credit.

There is a $25.00 fee for all returned checks.

What you will Learn
Our lessons are provided in accordance with a training plan which amongst other things includes grooming, saddling, ground control, balance, walking, trotting and cantering in harmony with the horse. As riders advance we will progress to lateral movement, rounding and collecting, trail work, jumping etc.. Various exercises and activities are also used to increase co-ordination and to let students experience the different types of riding disciplines that may interest them. We specialize in giving you individual attention and also have a variety of activities and classes designed especially for children.

General Information

On the day of your lesson be sure to arrive at Serenity Mountain Stable with plenty of time to process your paperwork and collect your helmet from the tack room. Please be on time for your lesson in respect for the next student.  If you do arrive late, the price is the same and your lesson time will be cut short.

Helmets displaying ASA 3838 or SEI equivalent are compulsory for all riders. We strongly recommend that each rider purchases a pair of correctly fitting riding boots for maximum safety. Breeches or jodhpurs are preferable however tights, tracksuit pants and for out western riders jeans are fine.

The minimum age for private lessons is 2 years old.
