After retiring from Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC) in 1992 and engaging in part-time activities outside the field of technical communications (see retirement resume), he ran out of money.
After posting a resume on the Monster Board and then updating it, he received twenty-one replies, six interviews, and one job offer which he promptly accepted. He started working for Ajilon Services at Manulife Financial in downtown Boston on 20 September 2000 and was told he would be there for about three months. But his project was extended and now it looks like he won't be available for other employment until on or about 9 February 2001.
