I had a wonderful childhood, thanks to my older and younger siblings, parents &
grandparents. Beginning at Gower's kindergarten, and the many memories of Scioto Trail Grade School. I enjoyed playing
cork ball with the older fellows in front of the school and later playing Baseball and Basketball behind it. I went on several
"Smoking" excursions with my older sisters in the nearby creek beds, but failed to pick up the habit then. I think me and
my brother Mick, explored every nook and cranny of Rosemount before I was 12 years old. Then my working career began. Besides
stringing venetian blinds in our basement, I sweep and mopped the Awning Shop on 10th St. I wanted to be my own boss, so I
began with a Daily afternoon paper route. Soon I expanded to include a morning route. After several years I decided, no more
nickel and dime jobs for me. I was a skinny kid with strong legs, so I began working out in my spare time to build up my
upper body. I also took on the task of painting our family home. The extension ladders were quite difficult to move around.
I finished the job but decided scraping and painting wasn't me. I finished High School, started college and continued working
a part time job. After a year of college, I married my high school sweetheart and began my own family. I got a full time job
as a mailboy at Goodyear Atomic Corporation and continued with my college education. My wife had our first child, my son Myke,
right before I joined the Engineering Dept. and entered a drafting apprenticeship program at work. By the time our daughter
Michele was born I had become a journeyman Drafter. I quit college my junior year, it became too taxing. At work, I went through
the ranks of Senior Drafter and Designer, before becoming an Engineer in 1988. I worked in all disciplines of engineering,
Electrical, Instrumentation, Civil, Mechanical, and Chemical. I became specialized in process systems and engineered designs
used to feed, sample, withdraw, and transfer our enriched Uranium Hexafloride product. I enjoyed my job alot, but took early
retirement 8 yrs ago. Both my children have good jobs and nice homes, I am very proud of them. I have two grandchildren
now, Erica 6 and Joshua 3, that I am very fond of. I enjoy spending time with all of them. My Spring, Summer and Fall are
spent mowing my lawn, weedeating, and keeping up my home. I hibernate during the winter, except for feeding the birds,
snow plowing my drive, and snow blowing around my home.

Taking a break from work
|
For almost twenty years, I spent my off time cruising on the Ohio and Scioto
rivers, as well as Tygart, Turkey and Kinniconick creeks. Collecting arrowheads from the beaches, along the way.
