Had to.
Fred, Sean and our older brother Emory attempted to snowboard.  We did it at Sugarbush in Vermont, which was norman rockwell-esque beauty.  Needless to say it was as if we were in a boxing match recieve concussions, bruised tailbones, and other soreness which has made our lives uncomfortable and severly diminished the music output, and yet I (Fred) can not wait to go again.

Happy New Year
Whatever happened to the free spirits in music?  It seems that there is less good music and less individualists in music every year.  Is there a reason? There is many I think the main reason is the non-conformist is less pressured by outside influences and generally follows there own muse and can't be manipulated.  Maybe we can hope to have a little more of the eccentrics in the new year.

Happy Holidays
Been a little slow on the web site lately. So I have made a resolution to add more stuff, and make the site a little more user friendly (less load time).  Sean and I are going to try some home recording in the new year.  The main culprit in our web prodution productivity is our brand new Xbox360 which is hooked to a new lcd tv and the free tascam studio moniter speakers that I got for buying the home studio.

Trying to work the large free jazz stuff with the pro-tools we just got.  It is difficult setting up the m-audio firewire device with pro-tools and the computer but I finnally got the software to recognize the box (to use the non knob terminolgy) and I got to actually hear something coming out of the system.  Now I need a good way to hook up the mini-disk recordings to put them into pro-tools. It seems like I spend hours just learning the minimum.  I am also spending time trying to start the buisness end.  Things have changed in the true musician world so much in the past 20 years.  We now have to do alot more instead of just playing, including all the terrible buisness stuff.

The first track is now ready (I think). This is a jazz/new-age/new music soundtrack for a television show by the group Plasma.  The group is a trio of Marlo on Keyboards, Sean Anderson on Bass and Flute and Fred Anderson on Percussion.  It is totally improvised and recorded directlly to a tascam 24 track porta-studio.  There are no overdubs or edits.  This was recorded at Marlo Studios on November 14, 2005. It is track 1 and its a little over 15 minutes. If you would like the other Trio (which is over 25 minutes) it is available for purchase. Go down the page and click to have the streaming version of the first trio.
