WE'RE BACK IN ONEONTA!

Upper Susquehanna Contradance returns to Oneonta this fall in TWO new locations: the Salvation Army Church at 25 River St., and the Foothills Performing Arts Center at 24 Market St. Our dances will now be held 7:30- 10:30 PM, yet another new time. We are starting with introductory dances at these locations, and hope to have a full, and regular, schedule soon. Stay tuned for further details.

Everyone is welcome at our dances; you don't need any dancing experience, nor do you have to bring your own partner. Just dress comfortably and wear clean soft-soled shoes to protect the floor. Each dance features live music and a caller who teaches the dance figures and steps before the music starts. For those among you who are concerned about cardiovascular fitness, contradancing provides a carefully balanced combination of vigorous exercise and flirting which should keep your heart rate up all evening. These dances are supported in part by a Decentralization Grant from the New York State Council on the Arts administered by the Upper Catskill Community Council of the Arts (UCCCA).

The Otsego Dance Society (our neighbors, but a separate organization) holds contradances at 8:00 PM on the first Friday of each month, except July and August, relocated at the Presbyterian Church, on Pioneer St. in Cooperstown.

Their admission charges are: Adults, $7, teens $2, 12 and under, free.

Fall season starts Sept. 5. Details soon!

Oct. 3- Harvest dance with Jim Founds and Jane's Gang. Preceded by potluck dinner at 6:15.

Nov. 7- Tunescape, with caller TBA.

No dance in December or January!
