WE'RE BACK IN ONEONTA!
Everyone is welcome at our dances; you don't need any dancing experience, nor do you have to bring your own partner. Just dress comfortably and wear clean soft-soled shoes to protect the floor. Each dance features live music and a caller who teaches the dance figures and steps before the music starts. For those among you who are concerned about cardiovascular fitness, contradancing provides a carefully balanced combination of vigorous exercise and flirting which should keep your heart rate up all evening. But really, what is contradance? Try Gary Shapiro's page, What is Contra Dance?
If you already know what contradance is and would like to get better at it, try one of Jonathan Sivier's pages for some helpful hints:The Top Ten (plus) things that make a good (contra) dancer
